Join Harding Presidential Sites Researcher Jon Andersen as he explores the life and work of Dr. George T. Harding Jr., younger brother of President Warren G. Harding.
Dr. Harding founded the Columbus Rural Rest Home in 1916, which later was renamed Harding Hospital. The facility offered one of the earliest programs in psychiatric medicine in the nation and acted as a residential facility. Jon will help us discover the man behind this innovative work by delving into his relationship with his brother, his personality and his philosophy in treating mental health.
Jon will be joined by Dr. Richard K. Harding, one of Dr. George Harding’s grandchildren, with a special appearance by Dr. George T. Harding IV, the oldest grandchild, who will share his personal remembrances of life with his grandfather
